Rescue 180 has announced the launch of its inaugural Steps of Hope 5K, a community walk/run dedicated to raising funds for children who have been placed into state custody due to parental arrest, emergency removal, or intervention by government agencies. The event will take place on June 13th, 2026 at Field Of Dreams, Dandridge, TN, bringing together families, civic leaders, and supporters from across Jefferson County and East Tennessee.

The event’s mission focus line, “Every Step Helps a Child Forward,” reflects Rescue 180’s commitment to providing immediate support, comfort items, and essential resources to children experiencing traumatic transitions.

“When a child is taken into custody, they often leave their home with nothing but the clothes they’re wearing,” said Rev. Deborah Schultz, Rescue 180 Founder. “Steps of Hope gives our community a way to stand together and make sure these children feel seen, supported, and cared for from the very first moment.”

Participants of all ages are invited to walk, run, or stroll the 5K route. The event is designed to be family friendly, accessible, and welcoming to anyone who wants to make a difference.

Funds raised will directly support Rescue 180’s child impact initiatives, including:

• Clothing and hygiene essentials

• Support for foster placements

• Community outreach and crisis response programs
